Memories should not be confined to the photo album

Our happiest memories are frequently those of childhood. More often than not, they come alive when we flip through the well-worn
pages of an old photo album. However, a favourite toy, an aroma or a taste can also send us off into pleasant daydreams of times gone by.
The same applies to the furniture we had as children. A little rocking chair or a cupboard can suddenly bring back a game or an event that
had been almost erased from memory by the passage of time. The idea of furniture as a cherished memory is what inspires us
here at Heirloom. We design and produce furniture that is intended to last for generations and carry with it more and more memories,
from one childhood to the next.

When grandma was young, "disposable" goods were
unheard of

Each piece of furniture we produce is unique; carefully crafted entirely by hand. We do not cut any corners. Our Theodor and Ellinor
seating, for instance, has solid wood arms constructed using the dovetail method, a classic craft technique. The cushioning is made
from jute, horsehair, wadding and cotton fabric. The upholstery is hard-wearing, spill-resistant leather tanned using vegetable oil. The
Nora table and the Bror sideboard are designed with soft, childfriendly shapes. The sideboard does not feature any protruding knobs
or fittings. The furniture has been designed by Catharina Engelholm for children between the ages of two and six. The Georg floor lamp was
created for us by Patricia Trambevski at Belid.
