About Bydalen
Bydalen is situated in secluded and sheltered location in the start of a valley between two peaks. The first visitors found their way here more than one hundred years ago, and the original shieling by Lake Dalsjön is still a popular place to visit in the summer. Bydalen is situated approximately 60 km west of Östersund in the province Jämtland, in grand and snowsure surroundings. Bydalen is one of the resorts in Destination Bydalsfjällen.
In Bydalsfjällen you have access to all the pistes throughout the destination on one single ski pass. We have 15 lifts and around 50 wide pistes with lots of room for turns. Those who wish some variation can choose from 40 km of prepared cross-country skiing tracks and miles and miles of marked trails for ski touring.
The vertical drop here ranges from 420 metres and the longest run is more than 3 km. The upper zone tempts with off-piste, black runs and the possibility for ski touring but here is also a wide selection of carefully groomed red pistes. Skiing in the lower zone means sheltered and wide pistes with plenty of room for the turns. The pistes here range from red to green, with a dream park, half-pipe and several children’s areas.
When staying in Bydalen you will find yourself in cosy 4 or 6 bed chalets, all fully equipped including broadband connection, situated adjacent to the lifts. Bydalens Wärdshus, previously a hotel, now harbours reception, a small shop with over the counter service like in the old days, saunas, conference facilities and Bydalen Kök & Bar with restaurant, pub and fireside après-ski.
In the Ski rental & sports shop you will find all the equipment necessary for the advanced skiers as well as novices.
Family-friendly resort
Bydalsfjällen is not only skiing; here are also various other activities to take part in such as theme nights, children’s activities and snowmobile safaris. There is always something on for all the members of the family and everything is nearby; in principle you can leave the car in the parking lot all week!
In Bydalen you will encounter a warm, family-friendly and hospitable atmosphere. The various children’s areas allow the little ones to go out to play in the snow on their own because of the closeness to the accommodation; safe for the children and parents alike.
